JEE Main Papers 2018:

JEE Main Paper 1:

JEE Main Paper 1 is a Multiple Choice Question Paper, consisting of 90 Questions to be solved in 3 Hours divided into 3 Sections – Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. This means, the candidate can spend only 2 minutes per question. However, as some questions are tougher than others, requiring more time, easy questions should be solved in less than 2 minutes to compensate for the time taking questions. For this, while preparing for JEE Main, students should practice Sample Question Papers and assess where they stand, what are their strengths and weaknesses and how to manage their time better.

JEE Main 2018 Exam Pattern:

JEE Main 2018 Exam Pattern for Paper 1:

• All subjects in the JEE Question Paper (Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry) are equally weighted
• (30×3 = 90) with each question carrying 4 marks for the right answer.
• Mark the correct answer with diligence as there is negative marking for wrong answers – 1 mark is deducted due to negative marking – that is 1/4th (of 4) of the total marks.
• No marks are deducted for not answering any Question.

Useful Tips to prepare for JEE Main Paper 1:

• First things first, have a thorough understanding of all the Topics covered under JEE Main in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
• Then, start solving MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) for each subject.
• Then start solving the entire Sample/Previous Question Papers within stipulated time frame,
• e.g. 3 hours for each Question Paper.
• As JEE Main is conducted in Offline as well as Online Mode, preferably first solve the Papers in Offline mode (pen and paper). Once you have done enough practice offline and developed good speed, start solving the Sample Question Papers Online.
• Practicing Question Papers will help you to face the actual JEE Main exam with confidence and focus as you will be already well familiar with the pattern, type of questions asked, difficulty level, marking system, etc.
• Be sincere while preparing for your 12^th Exams, as your JEE Ranking is now also based on your 12^th Results.
• Utilize your time and effort according to the weightage given to each topic.

JEE Main 2018 Exam Pattern for Paper 2:

• JEE Main Paper 2 comprises of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
• This Paper consists of three parts: Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing Test

Section 1: Mathematics

This section consists of 30 Objective Questions comprising of 120 marks in total.

Section 2: Aptitude Test

This section consists of questions on General Awareness, Reasoning and Analytical Skills, visualizing 3D objects from 2D Objects. There are 50 Objective Questions comprising of 200 marks in total.

Section 3: Drawing Test

This section consists of creating 2D and 3D compositions. There are 2 Questions comprising of 70 marks in total. Drawing Questions need to be attempted on the different drawing sheet placed with the answer sheet.
