IELTS general mainly differs in the writing section format where we need to write a formal letter instead of an informal one. The rest is quite similar and you can expect a similar type of difficulty in the two.

What is the best way to use my 60 minutes time in academic writing test of IELTS?
Academic writing has two sections. Task 1 and Task 2. For Task 1 you have to write min 150 words and for task 2, min of 250 words. Divide your 60 minutes time accordingly. I suggest, you give 20 minutes for ask 1 and 40 minutes for task 2.
