If you have interest/experience on Programming in college days, then start learning with C, C++, Java.

Plenty of jobs are available in the market even you are fresher, and you should have enough theoretical and practical knowledge to get the job. And also you can learn Database administration(DBA) for MySQL, Oracle, MySQL have good feature, you can handle only Database admin tasks instead of writing programs, Linux, windows admin also available. MS-SQL will be a better choice if you are new to the software or experience. Working in MS-SQL have options like GUI to work easy also have Command line, Powershell etc. Suppose you have experience in scripting or programming language. Plenty of jobs are available in the market even you are fresher, and you should have enough theoretical and practical knowledge to get the job.
