I am a working professional. Have been working for the past two years. I want to do an executive MBA, which requires a min of four years of work experience before applying. So, when should I start studying for CAT which would help me score a good score, and help me get into the right college?

Hi Vikas, CAT is an exam different from other competitive exams as it requires useful application of basic concepts. For VARCs, It requires good reading skills which don't come instantly like QUANTITATIVE APTITUTE. So what you can do now is that you start reading DAILY 3-4 editorials from "The Hindu"... ...more

Hi Vikas, CAT is an exam different from other competitive exams as it requires useful application of basic concepts.

For VARCs, It requires good reading skills which don't come instantly like QUANTITATIVE APTITUTE. So what you can do now is that you start reading DAILY 3-4 editorials from "The Hindu" or any other paper which will improve your reading speed and vocabulary. As this requires time and doesn't come instantly, you can start this now itself. One year before you begin practising RCs.

For DILR part at present, you try solving daily sudoku, which will help you increase mental ability and thinking power. One year before you start practising previous years DILR questions and from mocks. This part doesn't require any book for practice to understand concepts from any book one year before the exam.

For quant, you can start it one year before now that much stress not required.

Overall, one year before the exam, you can devote weekly 8-10 hrs as per your convenience and join a mock test series six months before the exam. It will be a perfect approach.
