Instead of calling customers, asking customers to buy, or pushing to sell (like some sales people do and some companies do), Inbound marketing comprises of regular work like blogging, content marketing, using social media, using permission-based email marketing, paid advertisements on Google/Facebook, and many other methods to built trust first. Customers read what you write. They follow your business on social media. They regularly receive emails from you. They see your ads online. They buy when they are ready to buy. That's Inbound marketing. The best way to learn it? Do it. Start a blog, learn how to drive traffic to your blog, start a YouTube channel, start using email marketing, etc.

The only way to get better at something is to do MORE of it.
