However if the model you want is not available in stores near you then buying from online can be an option as long as the website is generally well reviewed and has a good return policy.

You can buy online or offline as well.....if you are buying online then make sure you must check the details of the guitar and their return/ replace policy. If case you get a defective piece so you can change or return. I personally suggest you to go to a musical store if you can. Go along with someone who know how to play guitar (even a little bit like basic chords or scales) so he/she can check the quality and tone of the guitar. And if you visit a musical store then you can try different models from different brands. Also at some places, the store providers free bag and strap and some basic services as well.

Good luck!

Can I play a guitar without learning chords?
You can start with simple strumming... But you'll have to learn chords .. start with the easy ones like A-minor, c-major etc... They are not difficult... Everything needs practice,, so does guitar playing.
