If you're not an experienced player, you should know someone who is, who could come with you to try out guitars in person. Otherwise you will be shopping and choosing based on cosmetic appeal alone. A guitar that’s comfortable — with the neck and your chording hand, the body under the forearm of your strumming arm — will feel more like an easy extension of yourself than one where, say, the neck’s a little too big or the body’s uncomfortable.
