there is not any particular position to hold guitar. Each player has own style depends on his/ her comfortability to hold the instrument to play it clear.

If you notice any discomfort while playing, adjust and take a break. If you feel like your neck or shoulders are feeling uncomfortable after playing, make a habit of stretching beforehand and afterwards. Other than that you should be fine! read less

If you have already played acoustic then continue to play electric in the same way. You may just look up YouTube for guidelines which will help you to play better. read less
