hold it tight and properly and let the sound comes out clean and finger stretching would also help

Try to practice forming simple chords like C and G7 E7 and A chords then once become familiar of strumming chords properly then try grand chords

Start practicing D major and A major and E major chords ..once you are comfortable select an easy rhythm pattern ..and try to play all the chords together ..once you are fluent ...go for G,C,D all majors ...the same way as above ...and finally go for bar chords ...
