Answer Well, the simple answer is first get an acoustic guitar. This helps build finger power and flexability.
Electric guitars are comparatively easier to play but are very sensitive. They are connected to a guitar amplifier which would really highlight your mistakes really well.
Also, electric guitars will incur more cost towards purchase of guitar amplifier etc.
So best is to first develop skill set and finger power. Then get an electric guitar to highlight the playing mistakes as well as playing with comfort.
