Acoustic guitar requires more strength in the fingers and wrist; however, electric guitar requires more control when working with different sounds. I recommend learning acoustic guitar to get the hang of basics and then moving on to an electric. Nevertheless, you can start with any guitar as both require discipline, which is the hardest thing.
