In Google SketchUp (now Trimble SketchUp), you can resize or scale your model using the built-in tools. Here's how you can enlarge a model:

  1. Select the Entire Model:

    • Use the Select tool (arrow icon) to click on any part of your model. Alternatively, you can press "Ctrl+A" (Windows) or "Command+A" (Mac) to select the entire model.
  2. Activate the Scale Tool:

    • Once your model is selected, activate the Scale tool. You can find this tool in the toolbar or use the "S" keyboard shortcut.
  3. Select a Reference Point:

    • Click on one of the corners or edges of the selection to set a reference point for scaling. This point will remain fixed while the rest of the model scales.
  4. Scale the Model:

    • Drag the selected corner or edge away from the reference point to enlarge the model. As you drag, you'll notice the model scaling proportionally.
  5. Enter a Specific Scale Factor:

    • Alternatively, you can type a specific scale factor while the Scale tool is active. For example, entering "2" would double the size of the model.
  6. Complete the Scaling:

    • Click to confirm the new size when you're satisfied with the scale. Your entire model will now be resized.
  7. Check and Adjust:

    • After scaling, double-check your model to ensure that it meets your size requirements. You may need to make additional adjustments to specific components or details.

Remember to consider units when working with scale. If your model has specific dimensions, ensure that you're scaling it appropriately to maintain accuracy.

Keep in mind that scaling a model might affect the dimensions, proportions, and relationships between its components. Always review your model after scaling to ensure that it meets your design requirements. If precision is crucial, you may also want to use guidelines or dimensions to maintain accuracy during the scaling process.
