What is the use of the "this" keyword in Java?

'this' refer the current instance of a class. You can get and set data members of current object using 'this' prefix inside there class data type.

Is there any huge difference between experienced Java and PHP developers?

It won't be huge if you are talking about JSP and PHP programming. But yes Java has many component which are no where similar to php.

Why are there no Indians on top-10 lists of open-source contributors?

That's a good question. I believe in India IT professional are more inclined towards a permanent jobs in IT company which is a service industry with strict customer protocols and lesser programmers are out there who are working as a consultant or freelancer programmer. Which will be better in the upcoming year, dotnet or PHP?

Microsoft now jumps into open source plate form and lunch dotnet core and capturing market. If you are a donet developer then download vs 2017 with full stack dotnet suite and be an expert on this. And if you new in programming and want to be an web developer then go for PHP.

What chances are there for a PHP developer in the USA?

I would suggest you should also get hands on of client side technologies e.g, Javasscript SPA frameworks-AngularJs or EmberJS and be a full stack developer. It will increase you opportunities to get a job in USA
