Manual Testing is always preferred before Automation testing. First we need to use manual Testing to find all Maximum bugs,once application is Stable then only we should go for Automation testing. Automation is used for repetative testing but new scenarios needs to be created from manual Testing side first.

Inception of Multiple Automation tools resulted in decreasing the scope of Manual Testing. Many of teh compaines are asking their developers or fresher to perform the testing and it is again one reason of decreasing jobs and scope of Manual Testing. Manual Testing take a lot of time and may or may not be accurate as it depends on how many poractical scenario a Tester will be creating.
