Answer Interrupt is - a situation where once set the controller or processor can go and do other jobs and if the task is completed or if there is an issue the interrupt seeks the attention of the processor in wich case the processor can puse the task that it is currently doing and service the interrupt where as during pooling the processor or the controller has to keep checking the task ewvery now and then which ties the processor/controller to the task witout allowing it to do a parallel task.
eg:- your ring/alert tone in you mobile is like an interrupt. You cna keep doiing other jobs and when a call or a message comes it alerts and you cna pause the currnt task you are doing and attend the call or read the message. In case of poling assume this facility is not there in your mobile, and in this case you have to keep checking your mobile for alerts every now and then and you will not be able to perform any other tasks competley. Most of your time will be spent in checking your mobile.
