Explain why PC15 is trigonal bipyramidal whereas IF5 is square pyramidal.

Firstly we determine no. of hybrid orbitals by this formula H=1/2(v+m-c+a) where,v-total no of valence electron on central atom,m-total no of surrounding monovalent atoms , c-charge of cation,a-charge of anion. In which of the following substances will hydrogen bond be strongest?
(a) HCl
(b) H20                     
(c) HI                      
(d) H2S

H2O because H bonding strength depends on the electronegativity difference between H and other atom (F,O,N, etc.). Greater the electronegativity difference greater will be the strength of H bonding.
