IIT Entrance paper has always been analytical concept based and full of Hybrid questions i.e. intermixing of concepts from different chapters. For instance the block in spring mass pendulum is given charge and placed in an Electric field. This is mixing of concepts ftom 11th and 12th chapters. For more details kindly read the review of my students who cracked IIT Advanced . Questions asked specially in Advanced paper are always newly framed by IIT Profs and are never picked up directly from any book. So rot learning makes no sense for this exam. Nevertheless foundation for IIT prep is undoubtedly School text book. Most important thing in cracking any exam is to understand the pattern of the question paper.

There is a Himalyan Gap between the syllabus of class 10th and 11th.But that should not cause panic. Students before you too did it despite the Gap. Besides Physics is a super interesting subject and everyone enjoys it. The initial few months in class 11th are highly important . As your goal now is different so should be your input. If you give around an hour per day to class 11th Physics ,you can score well in schools exam.
