Effective Questioning Techniques: Types Of Questions

Questions are one of most of the effecient means of communication, questions are asked to gain information, insights, and know the opinions. It is natural behaviour is used by all for better understanding. There are 6 types of questions

1. Closed questions: Questions that can be answered in short sentences.

2. Open questions: Open questions are based on answers that are elaborative or explanatory.

3. Funnel Questions: As the name suggest, this questioning style with many closed questions and ends with open questions for getting the required information.

4. Probing Question: It is used specifically, when people try to avoid sharing some information. This is used to further clarify any misunderstanding, confusion or doubt.

5. Leading Question: Leading questioning is type of win-win, listener have the options to choose between two scenarios, and speaker get the required answer .

6. Rhetorical Question: This is used to engage the audience, mostly used as fillers.
