This reaction employs bases such as alkyllithiums and Grignard reagents. read less

This reaction is performed in two steps, where the intermediate diazo compound may be isolated. Subsequent reaction with protic or aprotic solvents strongly influences the outcome of the reaction. This reaction may be used to effect the overall transformation of a ketone to an alkene.

Protic and aprotic are solvents and serves as a medium for reaction. So in Bamford Steven reaction, Protic and aprotic have no role in the formation of carbonium ion and carbene.

The magnetic force Fm acting on charge ‘q’ when it moves with a velocity ‘v’ through a magnetic field ‘B’ is given by __________. (Fm = qv x B, Fm = qv2 x B, Fm = qE, None of these)
Fm= qvBsinX. It is Maximum when X= 90 degree. Therefore the question must be rephrased as considering the particle to be perpendicular to the magnetic field. In that case Fm= qvB

Given data: Current I1 and I2 = 100 Amps; Distance = 20 mm = 20 × 10-3 m; Force = ? We know that the force is found by the following expression. Torque developed force fT=M0 *I1 *I2/(2*(Pi)*d)=4*(Pi)*(10)^-7 *(100)^2/2*(pi)*20*(10)^-3=0.1 N
