An electric current induced by a changing magnetic field will flow such that it will create its own magnetic field that opposes the magnetic field that created it. A moving coil galvanometer is an instrument used for detection and measurement of small electric currents. When a current is passed through the coil in the direction PQRS, then the coil experiences a torque t = NIBA sina Since the magnified field is radial the plane of the coil is parallel to the magnetic field such that a = 90o and hence t = NIBA. The coil rotates and the phosphor bronze strip gets twisted. As a result a restoring torque comes into play trying to restore the coil back to original position. If f be the twist produced in the strip and C be the restoring torque per unit twist then the restoring torque = Cf. In equilibrium, torque in moving coil galvanometer where G is the galvanometer constant. This shows that galvanometer has a linear scale and detects the presence of current. read less

An electric current induced by a changing magnetic field will flow such that it will create its own magnetic field that opposes the magnetic field that created it 2)moving coil galvanometer:A galvanometer is a type of sensitive ammeter: an instrument for detecting electric current. It is an analog electromechanical actuator that produces a rotary deflection of some type of pointer in response to electric current through its coil in a magnetic field. Galvanometers were the first instruments used to detect and measure electric currents. Sensitive galvanometers were used to detect signals from long submarine cables, and to discover the electrical activity of the heart and brain. Some galvanometers use a solid pointer on a scale to show measurements; other very sensitive types use a miniature mirror and a beam of light to provide mechanical amplification of low-level signals. Initially a laboratory instrument relying on the Earth's own magnetic field to provide restoring force for the pointer, galvanometers were developed into compact, rugged, sensitive portable instruments essential to the development of electrotechnology. A type of galvanometer that records measurements permanently is the chart recorder. The term has expanded to include use of the same mechanism in recording, positioning, and servomechanism equipment read less

If an induced current flows, its direction is always such that it will oppose the change which produced it
Comments

Lenz's law states that the current induced in a circuit due to a change or a motion in a magnetic field is so directed as to oppose the change in flux or to exert a mechanical force opposing the motion.

Lenz's law It is a common way of understanding how electromagnetic circuits obey Newton's third law and the conservation of energy.[1] Lenz's law is named after Heinrich Lenz, and it says: If an induced current flows, its direction is always such that it will oppose the change which produced it. Lenz's law is shown with the negative sign in Faraday's law of induction: which indicates that the induced voltage (?) and the change in magnetic flux (??) have opposite signs. Lenz's Law is a qualitative law that refers to the direction of induced current in relation to the effect which produces it without quantitatively relating their magnitudes. Magneto-cardio-gram (MCG) The first biomagnetic signal to be detected was the magnetocardiogram (MCG) by Baule and McFee (1963). The discovery raised a lot of optimism, as it was believed that MCG would provide as much new information about the heart's electric activity as had the ECG. Since the concept of the magnetic heart vector was introduced by Baule and McFee in 1970, studies have been conducted to detect the vectormagnetocardiogram (i.e., in which the heart is considered as a magnetic dipole). Though the detection of the magnetic heart vector is an obvious selection as the first clinical tool, many of the MCG studies of today have been made by mapping the normal component of the magnetic field of the heart around the thorax. read less

When a direct current passes through the coil, it generates a magnetic field which interacts with the permanent magnet to cause the suspended coil (and its attached disk) to rotate. A light beam incident on the reflective disk will be directed to a calibrated scale so the degree of deflection, and hence the current, can be determined. This was made by Gambrell Bros. & Co. of London, England and dates from the early 20th century. read less
