Physics Professor

Go with NCERT like law book. Where every sentence carries lot of depth. We see many times students don't understand the exact meaning of statement but someone who can analyse things there is no better book. Also go for ten years papers along with NCERT for best results. Best of Luck.

Tutor.

According from my self : Without tuition means 1st of all you should have intention, dedication and work hard on particular course subjects, take guidance from your lectures and clarifying your doubts with them.
Comments

See..it completely depends upon the student. If you have a very good learning skill then you can definitely manage your studies by yourself but if you are an average learner you do need a guidance.

Chemistry Faculty

Yes, with consistent studies.
