Find the equation of a straight line passing through ( -2, 5 ) and (4, -3 )
We can use two point formula to solve this problem
( y - y1) = ( x - x1) • ( y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1 )-----------------------------( 1 )
x1 = -2 , x2 = 4 , y1 = 5 and y2 = -3 by substituting all these values in equation (1 )
( y - 5 ) = { x - ( -2 ) } • { -3 - 5 } / { 4 - (-2) }
( y - 5 ) = ( x + 2 ) • (-8)/(6)
( y - 5 ) = ( x + 2 ) • (-4)/(3)
3 ( y - 5 ) = -4 ( x + 2 )
3y - 15 = -4x - 8
3y + 4x -7 = 0
