Histogram is constructed on the basis of equal class interval and unequal class interval without leaving space between two bars. Frequency polygon is constructed by adjoining mid point of histogram. We first mark the mid point on a histogram and then adjoins all these mid points. You get the frequency polygon this way.

A continuous series of bars with exclusive class intervals is called a histogram.
Histograms use class intervals & frequencies are used as height of the bars .
Frequency polygon uses midpoints of class intervals which are joined to form a polygon .
This is how it differs from histogram !!

Each class is represented by a distance on the scale on X-axis and then respective frequencies are drawn on Y-axis. The heights of the bar is a measure of concentration of frequency.
