Answer:- (Maths=12, Science=16) or (Maths=9, Science=19). Explaination:- Let the marks in mathematics be X Then marks in science = 28 - x (according to the first condition) Now according to second condition; (X + 3) x =180 then on solving, we get; X = 12 or X = 9 Therefore, The marks in mathematics...

Answer:- (Maths=12, Science=16) or (Maths=9, Science=19).

Explaination:-

Let the marks in mathematics be X

Then marks in science = 28 - x (according to  the first condition)

Now according to second condition;

(X + 3) x [(28 - x) - 4 ] =180

then on solving, we get;   X = 12 or X = 9

Therefore,

The marks in mathematics and science (respectively) will be 12 & 16 or 9 & 19.

Let the marks obtained in science be x Marks obtained in maths = 28-x If 3 more in maths and 4 less in science, then product=180 => (28-x+3)(x-4)=180 => (31-x)(x-4)=180 => 31x-x2+4x-124=180 => x2-35x+304=0 =x2-19x-16x+304=0 => x(x-19)-16(x-19)=0 => (x-16)(x-19)=0 => x=16,19 =>...

Let the marks obtained in science be x

Marks obtained in maths = 28-x

If 3 more in maths and 4 less in science, then product=180

=> (28-x+3)(x-4)=180

=> (31-x)(x-4)=180

=> 31x-x2+4x-124=180

=> x2-35x+304=0

=x2-19x-16x+304=0

=> x(x-19)-16(x-19)=0

=> (x-16)(x-19)=0

=> x=16,19

=> Science mark=16,12

=> Maths mark=9,19

Let x and 28-x be the marks obtained in mathematics and science by p respectively By given data (x-3)(28-x-4)=180 (x-3)(24-x)=180 24x-72-x^2+3x=180 x^2-21x+108=0 x^2-12x-9x+108=0 (x-9)(x-12)=0 x=9, x=12 If x=9 marks in mat=9, science=19 If x=12 marks in mat=12,.science=16
