1) Expression of heat to be added to a gas at constant pressure to raise its temperature from t1 to t2 degree C is given by Q = m.cp.( t2-t1) kJ, m= mass in kg; cp= specific heat of gas at constant pressure.

2) Expression of heat to be added to a gas at constant volume to raise its temperature from t1 to t2 degree C is given by Q = m.cv.( t2-t1) kJ, m= mass in kg; cv= specific heat of gas at constant volume.

3) During electrical heating, generation of heat is given by the formula Q= I square. R. t when I = current; R= resistance; t = time for which the current flows.

4) Q= K.A.( t2-t1)/L is the expression of transfer by conduction through a material; k= thermal conductivity of the material; L= thickness; A= surface area of material.
