IdentityHello all. I'm Akshatha, a student of Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, or as it's more popularly known, BITS Pilani, one of the most prestigious institutes for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education in our nation.
At the very core, I'm a learner at heart, with the firm belief that every individual and every experience has something I can learn from. This is one of the major reasons I have started tutoring students from Classes 1-12, the enriching experience I gain through it all. It's my incredible privilege to learn from all of you and help you learn and shape your minds as well.
My relevant academic accomplishments are as follows:-
- AIR 6, SR (Karnataka) 2- NIOS Secondary Examination 2018-19 (equivalent to Class X Boards)
- National Standard Olympiad in Biology (NSEB) qualified, one of the youngest to qualify from Karnataka state, at 15 years of age- Conducted by HBCSE, TIFR annually, it's the first round of selection to represent India in the IBO (International Biology Olympiad).
- One among the top 1.5% candidates of JEE Mains 2021 (top 15,000), offered admission to Engineering and Science disciplines in NITs such as NIT Surathkal, NIT Tiruchirappalli and NIT Warangal, among others, with the best possible combination I was offered being EEE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) at NIT Surathkal.
- 286/450 in BITSAT 2021, giving me eligibility for all core engineering disciplines offered as well as all science dual majors in the Pilani campus, out of which, I have opted for Chemistry+Engineering out of both interest and the brilliant upcoming opportunities for interdisciplinary research.
- One among the top 1% candidates of JEE Advanced 2021 (top 10,000), offered admission to engineering and science disciplines in IITs such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi and IIT Madras among others
Aside from this, I've had over a year of experience teaching students across classes 1-11 on a volunteering basis, with multiple NGOs across Bangalore and on my own accord. This was an activity that gave me immense self-satisfaction, especially due to the bonds I formed with my pupils. Even today, it makes me happy to see them succeeding in the endeavors they take up, and even happier to hear firsthand from them, that my assistance contributed to their growth and success. Also, having an impeccable record in Model UN, I am eligible to tutor students in both History and Political Science as well.
I will be taking classes over Google Meet, Zoom, or any video-conferencing platform at your convenience. I believe in a student-centric approach to education, with understanding being the prime focus and examinations being additional. I focus on building relationships with my pupils and treat them as peers, which I find works well in not only building their receptiveness to what I have to teach but in developing a level of trust and comfort between the student and I.
