Music Profile of Smt. N.C. Vijayalakshmi, M.A.,M.Ed. ( Artist of South Indian Classical Music - Vocal & Veena)Smt. N.C. Vijayalakshmi, is a devoted South Indian classical singer, who constantly strives for perfection and has inborn talent in music. She strives to spread and share her Musical Knowledge and art of Indian traditional music to the new generation which she considers as her mission in life.
Smt. N.C. Vijayalakshmi, a retired Govt. school headmistress/Principal, specializes in the South Indian traditional Veena & Classical Vocal music and other Devotional, Light, folk music and Bhajans. She is at ease in both Carnatic and Light music.

She has come through a long journey as a performing artiste, teacher, guru and musicologist. She had the opportunity of learning from various Veena and Vocal Music experts from Hyderabad and Chennai.
Smt. N.C. Vijayalakshmi is a passionate Guru and has a growing students across geographical locations such as Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Canada, U.S.A, Dubai, & Saudi Arabia. She has been training her students in classical Vocal music & Veena at her residence and through online classes. The purpose has been to help needy and talented students of classical music to transform into performing artists.
Smt. N.C. Vijayalakshmi has been regularly training and developing many students and giving them exposure to the fascinating world of Classical Vocal Music & Veena and giving the talented students the opportunity to develop themselves into performing musicians. She also focuses on tapping the unique skills and suitability of the students to carve them for various types of music categories.
Born in a family of Scholars & Musicians ( Nallan Chakravarthy ) in 1946, where music has been a way of life and has rich Musical Tradition. Her father Late Sri. N.C.S.Venkatacharyulu was a great scholar in Sanskrit and was Recipient of Madhya Pradesh Government Puraskar for his achievement in Sanskrit.
From her very childhood she showed a deep passion for music. At the age of SIX she was introduced to Classical Music by her Mother Chudamani Devi who is very fond of classical music. At the age of TEN she joined Sangeetha Bhushan certificate course in VEENA at Govt. Music College, Secundarabad, Andhrapradesh. She is the disciple of Smt.I.Chellayi. After the certificate course she horned her skills from Sri.V.S.Ananta Rao, an AIR Artiste, Hyderabad.She continued her studies and Music together and after marriage, she had shifted to CHENNAI (Formerly called Madras). There she got the valuable opportunity of perfecting her skills in Veena & Vocal at the famous Government Music College, Madras.
She was blessed with the unique opportunity of learning "Thanjavur Baani" of reciting Veena from her Guru Late "Kalaimamani" Mrs. KALPAGAM SWAMINATHAN and also some techniques from Sri. M.A.KALYANA KRISHNA BHAGAVATHAR.
