Teaching Experience in detail in Spoken English classes
As i was residing in Germany for almost 6 years, I came across a lot of people. There is a thing in Germany called "Tandem Partner", where, you exchange the languages. I learn German and in turn I teach the Germans / Europeans spoken and written english. So from the initial days to end of days in Germany, i had taught a lot of Germans to speak fluently in english, and they really thank me for doing this. But professionaly i am an engineer and I teach German and spoken english as part time.

Be it any language, getting to know the new words by reading is the best solution. It can be in the very primary stage to the higher-level stage too. We may not know all the words. Reading a fiction, or reading nonfiction, or a newspaper or even cookbook magazines - everything has new words to learn. Being a voracious reader is the most excellent solution. It gets more interesting.
Psychology has proven that when you learn a new word, you have to use it a minimum of 21 times in the next 24 hours somehow. You can do that by writing or using it in a song you compose. Nothing is wrong. Keep using the new words you learnt every day.
When I learnt foreign languages like French or German, my only source of learning vocabulary was to translate a song from my regional language to this language. Maybe this might sound lame, but trust me, it works.
Give it a try!!
