"It has been 2 months since I joined Robert’s sir’s Spoken English class. Before I joined this course, I didn't know to speak and write in English and it was hard to understand English. After I joined this course, I learned to speak and write. He taught me well and covered all the necessary topics. He is very friendly and no matter how many times you ask a doubt, he clarifies your doubt with patience. English was a hurdle for me but now I find it easy to communicate in English. Robert sir helped me realize that. I have reached a stage where I am just short of speaking English fluently but I know that I will be able to get past that also. I have the confidence to do that because he gave me the confidence. I am sure I will improve my fluency soon, thanks to him."

'A European' is correct. The first alphabet of the word 'European' is a vowel. However, the sound of the word is more like 'Youropean' and not like the sound of the vowel 'e' in elephant. Hence the article 'a' is used instead of 'an'.

Yes. If a word starts with a vowel but does not sound like one, then the article 'a' is to be used instead of 'an'. For eg. the word 'university' sounds like 'youniversity'. So we should use the article 'a' instead of 'an'. Likewise, 'European' sounds like 'youropean' and union sounds like 'younion'.

Consider the sentence "Somebody cleans the office everyday". This sentence is in simple present active voice with the subject denoted by the word "somebody" and the object denoted by the words "the office". The action denoted by the verb "cleans" is transferred to the object by the subject. The above sentence can be changed into simple present passive voice likewise - "The office is cleaned everyday [by somebody]". Note that the subject and the object have interchanged their positions. The format for the verb in simple present passive positive format is "am/is/are + past participle". In the above example the active verb changes from "cleans" to "is cleaned" and the action denoted by the verb transfers to the subject in this case.

The verb lie has 2 meanings. When we refer to 'lie' as in 'lying down on the floor', the simple past and the past participle are lay and lain respectively. When we refer to 'lie' with the meaning 'false statement', then the simple past and past participle is the same word which is 'lied'.
