With my personal experiene I'd say 6 years , but it totally depends on the way the Instructor handles it and shares the right knowledge according to how easy can it be said to a kid , there are few kids who easily grasp and few others who can't understand and concentrate for more than 30 to 40 minutes. In the past 3 years I have myself taught kids of age 5-7, the least among kids in general , among them 3 are 6 year old girls! Initially it was a bit difficult for them but later on they were very easy on the instrument and theory.
