Teaching I must say is one of the best career choices I have made in my life time. Teaching has grounded me as a person by teaching me humility, generosity, kindness and empathy. I have always been a people person and have enjoyed teaching and training while I was working in the Hospitality Corporate sector. After working for 25+years in the Hospitality Industry all over the world. I decided that I wanted to become a Teacher/Trainer. I have worked and lived on four continents, travelled to 135 cities and 28 countries thereby gaining a wealth of knowledge and international life and work skills experience. I have been teaching for the last 8 years. I believe teaching is my calling in life. Interacting with adults, adolescents, children energises me every time I am with them. I love the fact that I am helping them to achieve their potential by encouraging the learners not only academically but personally to be the best that they can be. I love learning and teaching the subjects that I am passionate about. I love the interaction between the learners and myself. I honestly and truly believe that teaching is what I was born to do; maybe God really does plan our lives and if we follow that plan we will find fulfillment. I thoroughly enjoy my profession to the hilt. I get to explore subjects, and try new ideas and encourage others to do the same. I love listening to my learners ideas and seeing the way their minds work. I revel in their achievements and bask in the glow of their triumph. I love their curiosity about life, my life and all that I have learned. My teaching goes beyond the teaching material, its about preparing my learners for their futures ahead, feeling their pulse, connecting with them and helping them conquer their challenges and probe them to discover who they are meant to be. My teaching style involves interactive classes involving games, quizzes, role plays, one-on-one sessions, video clips, power point sessions, project work, and tests. I believe my greatest strength in teaching is patience, listening and empathy. Natural ability to teach, coach, motivate, and develop students while I maintain high interest in instilling a positive attitude. I am an articulate communicator, with ability to effectively interact with diverse populations of students at a variety of academic levels and age groups. Since I am a Hotel Management professional, I enjoy teaching subjects related to Food and Beverage, Hospitality Management etc.. However I also enjoy teaching Personality Development, Etiquette & Grooming, Soft Skills, Aviation, English as its my native language, preparing learners for job interviews and helping them design their resumes. Teaching learners work and life skills. As a teacher I have gained more knowledge of varying subjects and have been able to enhance my methods and techniques of teaching during the last 8 years. In recognition of contributions to the advancement and support of training and education in the hospitality industry received 3 Certificates of Appreciation for Service as Instructor from The Officers and Board of Trustees of the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Motel Association (AHMA). The technology I use in teaching involves, Power point presentations using the projector, flip charts, internet research and activity, group activity using role plays and quizzes, extempo's, field trips, building and creating projects, video clips, and audio visual aids. I tell my learners that the biggest gift they can give me is that each one of them achieves their goals and lives their dreams. In doing so I have achieved my dreams for them. As the saying goes "Teaching creates and fosters all other professions."
