The first level of CA exam is called Common Proficiency Test or CPT exam.
The CA CPT exam for 2017 will be held on 18th June. The CA CPT exam is also conducted in the month of December.
On the CA CPT exam day, there are two halves : morning (10.30 a.m. – 12. 30 p.m.) and afternoon (2 p.m. – 4 p.m.).
The papers for CA CPT exam are:
Accounting (60 Marks)
Mercantile Laws (40 Marks)
Economics (50 Marks)
Quantitative Aptitude (50 Marks)
The total marks of CA CPT exam is 200.
The first two papers of CA CPT exam are conducted in the morning while, the later two are taken in the second half of the test.
The questions of CA CPT exam are objective type multiple choice questions (MCQ). There is negative marking for incorrect answers in CA CPT exam.
The criteria to apply for CA CPT exam is clearing the Class X exam. Students can apply for CA CPT exam after clearing Class XII exam as well.
Students have to pursue 50% in each paper and 50% in aggregate to clear the CA CPT exam. Those who qualify the CA CPT exam become eligible for Professional Competency Course (PCC).
The CA CPT exam fees varies according to geographical location.
Indian test centers: 1000INR
Kathmandu (Nepal): 1700 INR
Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, Muscat: $ 300
