Bengali (known as Bangla Language) is 7th most spoken native language.[1]

Also Bengali literature and folklore is well established and renowned around the globe.

Can you please share what is your purpose of learning Bengali?

  1. Is it to read Bengali literature?
  2. Is it to write in Bengali?
  3. Is it to communicate with people who speak Bengali in Bengali?
  4. Is it for composing/understanding Bengali music?

For introduction, please read the following page:

Bengali alphabet

Then you'll need to find a language partner with whom you can practice conversation. Two mobile apps (free, I've used both) I'll suggest where you'll find language partner and can practice conversation in Bengali:

  1. Speaky
  2. HelloTalk

Then if you're still interested learning the language, I'd suggest another application/website, where you'll find language teacher:

  • iTalki

Good luck :)
