"I have known Sharadha for more than 2 decades and have closely followed her work and passion towards teaching English and communication skills to learners of all ages. She is highly skilled, very qualified and brings in a completely new perspective to English language learning. Be it her work with Prof. Marmar Mukhopadhyay in editing his books, or running learning camps for kids, or transforming a rural school to become truly learner-driven, or the numerous children's books she has anonymously authored - Sharadha's contributions to teaching and learning English are just mind-blowing. I will recommend her any day, to anyone who wants to learn English. Wishing her all the very best in all her endeavors! "

In order to score well in the listening section, you need to listen to audio recordings from authentic sources that would get you accustomed to different topics, paces, and accents in the TOEFL exam. You need to develop active listening skills and jot down notes that would help you to answer the questions later. Practice mock listening tests to assess whether you are able to answer all the questions within the time limit. Also, monitor your errors and check whether there is any pattern so that you can take the help of a language coach to address the same. Additionally, you can also watch movies or listen to interviews and documentaries to familiarize yourself with the American accent.

Firstly, familiarize yourself with the TOEFL test format, and understand the marking scheme and question types. Use standard resources to prepare for each TOEFL section. Start with the speaking section and then move on to reading. Practice using standardized tests and time yourself to see how long you take. Next, practice writing essays on 5 to 10 topics and self-evaluate yourself using the standard rubric to assess your level. Finally, move on to the listening section. Listen to audio recordings from authentic resources to get an idea of the kind of text, the pace, and the accents. In the last two to three days, practice mock tests so that you can determine the time allocation for each section in order to complete the paper on time. Make sure you sleep well the night before the exam since you need enough stamina to undergo a 4.5-hour test!

Both IELTS and TOEFL exams assess your English language proficiency and are recognized by universities, colleges, and organizations worldwide. However, you need to check the specific requirements of your desired institution and find out which of these exams are accepted by them. Typically, universities in the United States and Canada accept TOEFL scores, while universities in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and many others accept IELTS. Keep in mind that the format of both exams differs. Also, while TOEFL focuses primarily on American English, IELTS assesses a broader range of English accents, such as British, American, and Australian among others.

A TOEFL score of above 90 or 100 is a respectable score. You will be eligible to apply to a lot of universities abroad. However, do keep in mind that the TOEFL score is not the only criterion for selecting a candidate in most universities. Other factors, such as academic or professional achievements, previous work or research experience, and recommendation letters, play an important role in the final selection and admission process.

Smart work is often considered more effective than hard work in competitive exams for several reasons. While hard work involves extensive effort, smart work focuses on optimizing efforts through strategies, such as effective time management and targeted preparation. While hard workers engage in repetitive tasks, smart workers allocate time to specific focus areas.
Smart workers employ techniques such as visualization, concept mapping, and mnemonic devices to enhance comprehension and retention. They simulate exam conditions, assess their knowledge and identify strengths and weaknesses through regular practice and mock tests. During the actual exam, smart workers employ strategies like skimming, scanning, and identifying high-scoring sections to maximize their performance.
While hard work is undeniably important, smart work allows individuals to optimize their efforts, providing a competitive edge and higher chances of success in competitive exams.
