"In short I found the tutorial sessions excellent and subsequently advised practice schedules very enjoyable. It gave me first of all a good fundamental picture, as well as later the deeper detailed aspects of the yogic practice of Pranayama. The tutorial was rendered in a very simplistic, calm and motivating style highlighting the important aspects and critically pointing out the mistakes. While I had a previous knowledge of Yoga (Pathanjali style Hatha Yoga) which I had learned in Group Yoga Classes in the evenings at Kalpakkam (AECS School Corridor); I had none whatsoever of Pranayama. Upon ageing, after severely struggling with Asthma/COPD medical issues after retirement and associated change of lifestyle I was extremely eager to learn Pranayama practice systematically both from health point of view as well as interest and enjoyment in experiencing the basic practice. This opportunity to learn from these pranayama lessons was really a golden one and were taught and presented to me by Poorvaja in a very lucid manner. I am also happy reaping benefits of the pranayama lessons with respect to lung capacity and better breath control and practice in day to day dealings in life and this sure has paved the way towards confidence in my respiratory health. The lessons started with basic warming exercises involving neck and shoulders and some shoulder and spinal stretches with associated slow and deep inhalation and exhalation. This was followed by some basic Yoga poses including butterfly pose, cat and cow pose, vajrasana, with associated breathing. This was then followed by Swas-asanas including deep breathing, chest breathing and abdominal breathing. It was then followed by the more advanced practice of Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) and Kabalbhati as well as Om-Chanting and Brahmari (Humming Bee Asana) with breath control. Overall this tutorial program to me was a very new and elevating experience. "
