"I have had thoughts of learning Dhrupad numerous times over the years, but I hadn't got an opportunity. I wasn't aware of any Dhrupad teachers who reside in Bangalore. A few months ago I fortunately discovered Ribhu Sanyal ji's profile on UrbanPro while looking for music teachers around where I live. I was elated! With my old desire rekindled, I contacted Ribhu ji and enrolled myself as his student. Ribhu comes from the great Dagarbani tradition. He has more than 20 years of Dhrupad training under the tutelage of his father and legendary artist, Ritwik Sanyal, and has received blessings from the great Dagars themselves! All his years of hard work show in his knowledge of Dhrupad and the mastery over the purity of the notes. He is very down to earth despite his pedigree and talent. He is an excellent teacher, always attentive and patient -- in the finest tradition of the Guru-Shishya parampara. I have only started recently but I am enjoying the classes and my practice thoroughly. I look forward to a long fruitful association with Ribhu ji.
