Good question...??
The answer is explained below steps;
1. Need to get familiar knowledge in Electrical and Electronics basics, because ES is inclusive of both.
2. Practical knowledge is also necessary because ES applications mainly designed to work in real time.
3. Circuit knowledge such as basic circuit analysis and design knowledge.
Note: the above three steps are must and common for every E&E er.
4. Know ES: to control an output which various like motor, pump, lights, compresser, etc. Using an electronic control circuit with some pre-programmed logics in it will control the output machine.
5. Need a good knowledge in IC's and embedded C programming.
Need to learn Microchip knid of burning application is appreciated.

As per my advise, depending on one website for learning is not recommended because as per present technology, there are so many blogs and YouTubers and websites are there.
And also there are various levels like beginners, experts so without that information and advising is wise idea.
Or else whatever you wanna ask utilise the online tutors because most of the top placed websites are asking for paid members to study the full courses. So compared to that you will get assistance of a person to clear your doubts.

Of course, the future of our technology is clearly moving towards embedded system only. To be clear, in real world application like automobile electronic systems, wireless Electronic door locks, automatic doors,.. etc are good examples of real time applications. Even in Industrial and Research also moving towards the same. We say Robotics but the basic of Robotic is nothing but the Embedded system. The definition of Embedded system " controlled by a real-time operating system with a dedicated function within a larger mechanical or electrical system, often with real-time computing constraints. It is embedded as part of a complete device often including hardware and mechanical parts. Wikipedia", to be short as per my definition, when you control any electrical equipment which do some physical work done by using a certain pre programmed codings and some logic with help of various Electronic components.
Now the answer to your question is, it is very good for an electrical engineer could study Embedded system will make his opportunity and scope very wide. And definitely will be a needed engineering in future.
