Is it necessary for kids to learn atleast one foreign language these days?

As the world is becoming flat, its must for the kids to learn other language - at least one or two if to be more competitive. More than 60% of Europeans kids know at least 3 languages by the age of 12.

People are less aware about as Portuguese here is less popular. Seeing the recent tie ups with Brazil , Portuguese is one of the best options. Currently in the Market there are very less numbers of Portuguese Language Speakers but has similar job prospects as demands have been very high in India. Its... ...more
People are less aware about as Portuguese here is less popular. Seeing the recent tie ups with Brazil , Portuguese is one of the best options. Currently in the Market there are very less numbers of Portuguese Language Speakers but has similar job prospects as demands have been very high in India. Its very difficult to find good Portuguese speakers and thus companies are ready to pay any salary. Currently among the European lot as per Demand which also depends on supply I would rate Portuguese on top, then German, then French and then Spanish. Among Asian language Japanese will be the top rated.

I would suggest German if the choice is only these 3 languages looking at the future prospects, economy of the Germany and wide scope and scholarship offered for higher studies in Germany.
