Perhaps. A certification looks nice on a resume. A certificate hanging on an office or cubicle wall might impress a few people. A certification could be a boost to your confidence (and /or your ego?), particularly if you are looking for a job. A certificate might move your resume onto the Human Resources person’s desk instead into the shredder.
In my world, experience weighs more than certification. When my employer writes a proposal to compete for and win a project, each person’s credentials and experience are listed. The company president’s qualifications list: his title, certifications, previous employers, 33 years experience, and a list of recognizable projects. The other team members’ qualifications are listed. Then comes the page with my name and [outdated, cheesy 🤓] photo. Education: no engineering or architectural degree, a technical certificate that doesn't even apply, but 49 years experience! Sure, I was in the work force 49 years ago, but Excel wasn't! My first exposure to a spreadsheet was a paper and pencil ledger or logbook. I knew how they worked long before Excel.
