When I was training children in spoken-English, I realized that there is a great need to "re-develop" the personality of the students by helping them to firstly organize the thought-process. "What to talk/say" "When to talk/say" "How to talk/say"- this depends a great deal on "listening skills" which in turn will facilitate "speaking-skills". Body language, eye-contact, being in constant "frequency" with the listener is very crucial. Often we find during TV discussions, there is cross-talk and ultimately the viewer is denied of a clear understanding of the actual outcome of the program. This shows that the anchor has no grip over co-ordinating the show as well as the "the panelists" lack clarity as to what is "a panel discussion". LISTENING IS DIFFERENT FROM HEARING. When you "listen" you understand, you register, you can recall information effortlessly. But when "hearing" is happening, the mind is inactive.
