I am in Test automation(Selenium/UFT/Java) for the past 11yrs. I am planning to upscale my career for a better pay scale. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you!
Since you already have good automation, try to upgrade yourself in the same domain with additional tools & technology like API/web services testing, mobile automation-appium, selenium using C# & python. Nowadays, API automation is in high demand.
Along with this, try different hands-on frameworks and CI/CD.
read lessIf you have good programming experience, you can try ML/AI courses. Many testing tools work on AI and ML technology, and basic knowledge of AI/Ml concepts must work on those tools. It helps you use your rich experience in testing with the latest technology and help you score a good package. I know one of my friend who is now getting 25LPA after switching from selenium automation to AI Bots testing using various AI-based testing tools.
Also, suppose you feel your programming skills are not that good. In that case, I think you can also approach the product management/business analytics field as being in the testing domain gave you good experience in any business domain. You can give a try to senior BA or product manager role based on your interest.
Another field in hype currently is Devops- If you are interested in CI/CD, Docker, Cloud computing, you should go for this field as it also benefits you in getting a good package.
