I started teaching my younger sisters when in school and college. My father was a professor at IIMA so Teaching is in my blood. I started my career teaching Engineering students. I also taught High school students in Africa maths and Science subjects. I have also taught undergrad students in USA as a teaching Assistant. I have taught post graduate students for more than 20 years. I have been teaching school children for past 7 years. So I have teaching experience of various age groups. I love teaching. It is a passion. I teach by clearing the basic concepts by giving various examples. I am savvy with technology so use tablet for short tests. There is no short cut to hardwork. It is practice, practice and practice but not mugging. If one Understands the concept then there is no problem which cannot be solved. I am very patient and not satisfied till the concept is not clear to a child. One very simple example to quote, One child of 7 years was not clear about even numbers and odd numbers. I kept on drilling in him that any number ending with 0,2,4,6,8 are even numbers but somehow he could not remember that. Finally I told him to put his two hands on the table and asked him to count, which he did correctly,10 (fortunately he did not have 11 fingers). Then I asked him to spell "even" which he did correctly. So then I asked him how many "e"s are there in "even" which he replied "2" so then I asked him to reduce 2 fingers every time and count the remaining numbers which he did as 8,6,4,2,0. So now he is absolutely clear about even numbers. My first love is maths, then Science and then English. I have learnt my English and not picked it up.
