All you need to carry is your camera, two lenses, a monopod, and a telephoto zoom for the runway. Remember to carry 24-105 mm wide-angle zoom lens to shoot backstage and 70-200 mm for the runway.

Set your camera to aperture-priority or manual ranging between 1/250 - 1/1500 at f/4 for fashion shows. Speed of the shutter also matters, if it is fast enough you will get sharper model images and blurry background. Also setting the white balance to 'indoor' and 'tungsten' should be just perfect for most of the shows.

When you shoot a fashion show, always capture three aspects - complete top-to-toe, three-quarter and a close-up. What you need to keep in mind is, ensure to capture pictures adjusting your zoom settings while the models walk on the ramp. Always remember, models walk pretty fast so you need to match their pace and shoot. Whether the models are at the far end, mid-way or closer, capture the best shot for each of the position.
