Q. When and how did you start working as a Tutor?
I started teaching in 1996 when I was learning music for my Visharad degree in vocal music. I used to assist my guru in conducting classes for her music centre. Noticing my interest in teaching, she asked me to teach her students. In 2003 I joined R.C.A. girls degree college and started teaching vocal music to undergraduate students. This was the start of my journey as a music trainer.
Q. What skills are required to become a Music Tutor?
To become a music teacher, one needs to understand the fundamentals of music and have the patience to make sure the students understand the core lessons.
A teacher should have the ability to notice and pinpoint the students' mistakes and effectively communicate them to correct them.
Specifically, as a vocal music trainer, they must understand the student's natural singing scale and vocal. They must not force students to sing in the trainer's scale.
