Here is an excerpt from the interview with Akshatha Nagaraja Rao.
Q1. When and how did you start as an Arts tutor?
I have always been passionate about painting. I started learning and practising different forms of painting in 2006. I then took up several courses such as the Montessori Teachers Training Course, Fevicryl Art & Craft Teachers Training and completed them successfully. Soon after that, I started giving Art classes that included various types of painting that I now specialise in.
Q2. What skills are required to become an Arts tutor?
An arts teacher needs to be creative and patient while teaching. Apart from being highly skilled at the particular form of art that one teaches, the most important thing is patience and helping the student achieve perfection in completing the work. One has to bring out the best in a student.
Q3. What do you think makes you stand out from other art tutors on UrbanPro.com?
I give classes for various types of crafts and paintings which include, Tanjore painting, glass painting, coffee painting, reverse glass Tanjore painting, hand embroidery, liquid embroidery, clay painting, acrylic painting, lippon work, one stroke painting, organic art, patch work, 3D neon work, neon painting, greeting cards, radium painting, 5 in 1 painting and much more. Also, it's very rare that a teacher(s) teaches a 5 in 1 painting which includes acrylic painting, organic art, Tanjore painting, liquid embroidery and coffee painting methods. Since I teach this type of painting also, besides the large variety of craft forms, it makes my teaching a little different.

When I was invited on the sets of a television channel to present my talent for painting before the masses, I gained immense popularity. As a result. The number of student enquiries multiplied drastically and so did my teaching business.
