Animation is a technique of displaying still images in a very fast succession, in order to create an illusion of movement. It is ideally an action of imparting life to the immovable objects. Computer animation, on the contrary, is the technique where animated images are developed by using computer graphics. Skills Required

Technical skills: Knowledge of graphical tools like Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Maya etc is quite important. A good understanding of terminologies like texture development, pixel shading, image frames and motion capturing is also essential. Imaginative Skills: These include creative skills like drawing, sketching and skills in story-telling, expressions and gestures. Since animation is an amalgamation of art and technology, imagination and creativity are the key attributes required to work with animation. Maths and Physics Skills: Good knowledge of important concepts in maths and physics is also quite important. Understanding of geometry and knowledge of physics concepts like motion, colour composition and other image related concepts is a must for animation. Note: Problem solving skills are also desired to become an animation artist.

Eligibility

The minimum requirement to start your career in Animation Industry is a graduate degree or an equivalent diploma in animation. A Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) degree is perhaps the best course to start your career in the animation industry. A good aptitude in drawing, sketching and some computer skills are considered important to enter into the animation industry.
