Here is an excerpt from the interview with Basil Varghese, an AWS Trainer: Q1. When and how did you start as an AWS Trainer? Ans. It started 6 years back when I helped my cousin and his friends to enter the Cloud Computing field after their graduation. That was the beginning and it felt very good as they started to build a career in Cloud Computing. Also, I always had a love for teaching. Q2. What skills are required to become an AWS Trainer? Ans. For any training, what matters most is knowledge and ability to convey your knowledge to your listeners. You could be a good trainer in AWS, if you have:

• Good working experience in AWS design, Architecture and Ops
• Passion to explain topics so that the listeners can easily visualise the work that you do. Also, love the topics that you teach
• The ability to pay attention to each one of your listeners

Q3. What do you think makes you stand out from other AWS Trainers on UrbanPro.com? Ans. Not very sure, if I am the one who should be answering this question, as I do not personally know much about other AWS Trainers on UrbanPro.com. Below are my strong points:

• Making listeners visualise a real-time work environment is a big challenge in training. I handle that very well with my extensive experience in Job as well as training
• Listeners get a lot of chances to learn and walk through the real-time scenarios through the lab sections, assignments and projects.
• My 10 years of experience in Datacenter and Cloud Operations and my good presentation skills.
• Engagement with students and Punctuality helps me keep my promises

Q4. How you came across UrbanPro? Ans. I found UrbanPro while browsing on Google. I liked it in the first place, as it looked very professional and extensively focussed on training. After all, I was looking to build my own training profile and Urbanpro looked like the best and only place. Q5. What was the turning point in your career? Ans. While I was searching for a part-time Jobs in AWS / DevOps during my off hours, I got a call from a consultancy who wanted me to take AWS and DevOps training for their students online. That was the first time I prepared the topics in a professional way and it helped realise that training could be the best part-time profession for me. That was the beginning. Q6. I was conducting training even before that, but I became visible after my public profile grew up with you in the last years. I have grown a lot as a professional as well as a trainer ever since I created the account in UrbanPro. Can’t say for sure, but I guess 80% of my work today comes directly / indirectly from UrbanPro. UrbanPro trainer profile is my only public profile I manage for training.
