Paper I is a general paper and so is comparetively easier, additionally, it is not a qualifying paper anymore. Thus, the best strategy to prepare for this paper is to keep these facts in mind and relax.
Once you're done with step one move to the next step which is picking up previous year question papers, most advisable is to go with previous 5 years, and statrt solving them. Mark your own answersheet and try to find where you lack. Since it is a general paper it should not be too difficult but irrespective of the scores you get don't let your morale down.
The next step would be to identify the areas where you're lacking the most (or scored the least marks). For example I lacked mostly in Reading comprehension, Information technology and Communication. Once this identification is done you have a foresight with regards to working towards your goal.
Lastly, remember that though all questions would be general in nature but there are certain areas which maybe more time consuming than others this specifically includes the Set III which has questions from Mathematical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation. These questions would require a regular practice. So I would suggest that you buy a book for each of these and practice regularly.
Keep the above points in mind and you're all set to score in Paper I. All the best!
