The amount of time it takes to learn Spanish depends on various factors, including how much time and effort you dedicate to studying, your learning ability, and the quality of instruction.
Though, here's a shorter way to learn the language quickly:
1. Immerse yourself in the language: listen to Spanish music, watch Spanish movies, and speak with native speakers.
2. Practice consistently: Set aside time each day to practice speaking, writing, and listening to Spanish.
3. Focus on grammar and vocabulary: Understand the grammar rules and learn new vocabulary words every day.
4. Use language learning apps: Duolingo, Babbel, and Rosetta Stone are popular options that offer interactive lessons and exercises.
5. Take a language course: Enroll in a language course for structure and accountability.
6. Read in Spanish: Start with simple texts and gradually move on to more complex ones.
7. Practice writing and speaking regularly: Write a short paragraph or journal entry in Spanish every day and practice speaking with a native speaker at least once a week.

The amount of time it takes to learn Spanish depends on various factors, including how much time and effort you dedicate to studying, your learning ability, and the quality of instruction. However, it's possible to learn Spanish in 2 years with consistent effort and instruction. Here are rough estimates of time frames for reaching different levels of proficiency.
Basic level: 1-6 months
Intermediate level: 6–12 months
Advanced level: 1-2 years
Proficient level: 2–5 years
Keep in mind that these are rough estimates and the time it takes to reach each level can vary significantly depending on factors such as the amount of time dedicated to studying and the quality of instruction. Additionally, it's important to continue practicing and challenging yourself beyond the initial 2-year mark to maintain and improve your skills.
Answered on 04 May Learn Language/Foreign Language/Thai Language
Cantonese does contain a substrate from the Tai languages, which includes Thai and Zhuang as modern members, so that could be a source of similarities. As for Cantonese and Hokkien dialects, it is believed that the prolonged encounters between Southern Chinese and Tai speakers (Zhuang, Thai, Lao, etc.) made their phonetic repertoire more rich than the Mandarin dialect. Many words in Cantonese and Hokkien sound very much like Thai.It is found that Thai tones and the sounds of Thai words are very close to Cantonese; perhaps they both spoke Tai before the Qin Dynasty
