Only then the application they design will be safe enough for every person to use it. A effective Software Engineer has to always find flaw in his system and he should be able to patch it. In order to understand the possible flaws and negate the potential of any vulnearability in his system, ethical hacking might give him more ideas of knowing the flaws and thereby constructively he can evade such flaws in his system.
